RFQ CH0113 - Queries - Identifying and Developing the Potential Market for Co-operative Housing in Wales
Question
My company is planning to submit a proposal for the tender above. All I have is a 2 page brief which was issued onto the Sell2Wales website. Do you have anything more detailed or do I have all the information?
Response
There should be an 8 page Appendix, attached to the 2 page front sheet, which you can download from the Sell2Wales website, which will give you more detailed information.

Question
You have specified Newport as the urban area - would you expect the rural area to be a different region of Wales e.g. north or west or is the work focused around the Newport areas/in the south?
You have specified Newport as the urban area - would you expect the rural area to be a different region of Wales e.g. north or west or is the work focused around the Newport areas/in the south?
Response
The description of the RFQ on Sell2Wales states that 'Findings from primary research to be undertaken by the researcher within communities in Wales (including at least one urban area (Newport) and one rural area) to identify: ...'
Newport is one Urban area which is part of the larger South East Wales Cardiff/Newport urban area so, there will also be an Urban site in Cardiff as the description says - at least one Urban area. The Rural area is likely to be in either South West Wales or North Wales, yet to be decided (to be discussed) as stated in the main document as the project covers the whole of Wales.

Question
Normal terms of business are 50% on commissioning and 50% on despatch of report - or sometimes a 40/30/30 split if it is a longer project. These are fairly standard terms in the industry and have been for 30 years+ in the business. Sometimes there are projects where the first payment is delayed until after the fieldwork completion but these are comparatively rare. Will there be any leeway on your terms? We would normally issue an invoice on commissioning and expect to be paid 30 - 60 days following.
Response
The research will be commissioned in line with our normal terms sand paid upon sastisfactory execution/delivery and as the research is to be completed in a short period of time i.e. by the end of March 2013, our normal terms will apply.
